Federal grants are a part of the financial aid package and may not have to be repaid. Because they don’t have to be repaid, grants will be awarded to students based on their financial need. Federal loans are monies borrowed to help pay for school and must be repaid. There are two types of loans you can apply for: subsidized and unsubsidized. For more information on these types of loans and information on which could be right for you, visit the loans page on the student aid website.
Parent PLUS loans is made for parents who have qualifying credit to borrow from the government to help pay for their dependent child’s education tuition. This type of loan will be in the student and parent’s name.

To help cosmetology students reach their career goals, Sport Clips Haircuts, the nation’s leading men’s and boys’ hair care provider, awards 15 Access to Cosmetology Education (ACE) Scholarships each year. To be considered for an ACE scholarship candidates must meet both academic and essay requirements established by Sport Clips. Eligible esthetician students can receive a $1,000 incentive scholarship. Applicants must be midway through an esthetician only training program, maintain at least 80% attendance, and 80% grade average. A selection committee comprised of NCEA members will review all applications that meet the requirements and are verified by the student’s school. Joe Francis Haircare Scholarship awards $1,000 scholarships for students currently applying for entrance into cosmetology/barber school, OR actively enrolled in a cosmetology/barber program. For details visit www.joefrancis.com
The BCL | CND | Tippi Hedren Nail Scholarship Program awards five scholarships to individuals pursuing education in the professional nail industry. Each recipient will receive up to $5,000 for nail education. Find out more at beautychangeslives.org/nails/
The BCL | Murad | Esthetics Education Scholarship Program provides an opportunity for prospective and newer students to win a $2,250 scholarship towards their tuition, a Murad Skin Care Kit valued at $500.00 and an opportunity to be paired with a Murad Mentor. Generously funded by Wella’s Hairdressers at Heart, the Vidal Sassoon Professional Beauty Education Scholarship Program – Basic honors the legacy of beauty legend Vidal Sassoon and pays homage to his belief in lifelong education. Each competition awards ten winners with 50% of their program tuition costs (up to $10,000). Competition rounds are held each Spring and Fall, and are designed for prospective and new students. For Post 9/11 GI Bill®️ (Ch 33) students and VA Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment (Ch 31) students, our tuition policy complies with 38 USC 3679(e) which means Post 9/11 and Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment students will not be charged or otherwise penalized due to a delay in VA tuition and fee payments. For eligibility consideration, a Post 9/11 GI Bill student must submit a VA Certificate of Eligibility (COE) and a Vocational Rehabilitation Student must provide a VAF 28-1905 form.
